Description

The rubber Sai is the training weapon we train to prevent danger. You can practice sparring and parrying realistically with the rubber weapon. You have to bend a rubber Sai while warm until it has the shape that suits you. Please note that the photos are only a representation because the shape and design change with regularity/delivery.

This trident goes by many names and is known in various countries. Originally used as a farming utensil, it changed over the years and events into a weapon that should not be underestimated. There are a lot of differences of opinion about the name of this weapon. We know it as the Sai, but also under the name Chabang or Tjabang (unknown what the exact spelling is; do you know a source?) and Siku Siku or Chiku Chiku.

The weapon is found in Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the archipelago. There are a multitude of techniques. The question remains, however, whether it is a punch, blow, or stabbing weapon. Which technique do you use? There are different sizes. A guide to determine the right Sai for you is the length of your hand up to and including the point of the elbow. The Sai is expected to extend approximately 5 cm beyond your elbow.
